2010 anti-virus and security products introduced by TrustPort
TrustPort has released the latest versions of its anti-virus solutions for home and business users.
The company claimed that TrustPort Anti-virus 2010 and TrustPort PC Security 2010 are aimed mainly at home and small office users. The first product focuses on protecting the computer against malware of all kinds, at all entry points of the computer. The second product throws in a personal firewall and securing of private data through encryption and shredding.
For corporate clients, TrustPort Anti-virus Business 2010 and TrustPort PC Security Business 2010 are available. They offer central administration and mass deployment of the software in corporate networks.
AVG and BitDefender scanning engines have been implemented as a default combination in all of the products. Peter Laakkonen, general manager, OEM and technology licensing at BitDefender, said: “We are excited about the partnership with TrustPort, and we are pleased to see TrustPort joining the growing number of leading IT security companies who have licensed BitDefender's anti-malware technologies into their products.”
Improvements include automated installation of software updates, while the software now includes plug-ins for all commonly used mail clients, namely Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird, and allows a more effective disposal of unsolicited and infected mail.
A protection of anti-virus system files was implemented, to prevent malware attempts to disable normal function of the anti-virus.
