Anonymous hackers shut down KKK website

The website of white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) has been shut down by hackers associated with the hacktivist group Anonymous.

The affiliate group called Ghost Squad mounted a full-scale DDoS attack to cripple the site

“We believe in free speech but their form of beliefs is monolithic and evil. We stand for constitutional rights, but they want anyone who is not Caucasian removed from earth, so we targeted the KKK official website to show love for our boots on the ground and to send a message that all forms of corruption will be fought. We are not fascist but we certainly do not agree with the KKK movement. They are the fascists and they are the racists,” one member of Ghost Squad said.

Anonymous has been after the racist group for months with coordinated attacks. It leaked the identities, social media profiles and other details of 1,000 people in November who claimed to be affiliated or in support of the Klan.

As of writing this piece, the KKK site is still down.
