Avast offers business edition of anti-virus in four 'flavours'

Avast has launched the new version of its avast! Endpoint Protection portfolio.

According to the company, it offers four "flavours" of security coverage and is structured to meet company needs regardless of their network complexity or size. All versions include comprehensive reporting options and detection of “rogue” computers and it is based on version 7 of the anti-virus engine, launched earlier this year and backed by the CommunityIQ user-based sensor network.

Its centrally administered coverage can start with two computers and be deployed to more than a thousand machines. The four "flavours" in the new product portfolio include the avast! Enterprise Administration and the avast! Small Office Administration. Also offered is avast! Enterprise Administration – the desktop console for complex networks that is able to manage more than one thousand machines.

The Small Office Administration is the web-based console for smaller businesses that can manage up to 199 machines in a single network. Based on Silverlight technology, users can connect and manage their network security from any browser.

Ondrej Vlcek, CTO of AVAST Software, said: “Business users need a proven quality. There is no better environment for testing and getting fresh examples of new threats than millions of active computer users. The hybrid system for streaming updates gives us a two-track system, freeing users from any connection dependency for their protection.”
