BlackBerry small business management console launched

Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the launch of the BlackBerry Management Center.

It is offered as a free online service for small businesses to centrally manage company or employee-owned BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud. It is designed for businesses with up to 100 BlackBerry smartphones deployed that access webmail services from an internet service provider (ISP).

According to the company, the BlackBerry Management Center helps to minimise risk from lost or stolen handsets and allows small businesses to wirelessly back up BlackBerrys automatically on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to aid in the recovery of lost business-related content stored on the handset. It also allows for a BlackBerry to be remotely locked, wiped or located, while passwords can be reset.
