BlockMaster announces enhancements to SafeStick USB and SafeConsole software
BlockMaster has upgraded its SafeStick and SafeConsole 4.0 software to help manage USB drives.
The improvements to SafeConsole include Publisher, which enables users to run a virtual laptop from any computer using a SafeStick secure USB device, and the ability to backup and restore files.
The company has also introduced Autorun and FileBlocker anti-malware to protect from zero-day threats, while the LockOut function prevents unapproved USB devices from accessing the corporate network.
Anders Pettersson, CSO at BlockMaster, said: “We are constantly evolving our product to provide a simple solution to the complex issue of security and usability. These new features will not only give administrators complete control over portable software, but also peace-of-mind that company information is always protected.”
Four new licensing models have also been introduced for SafeConsole: SafeConsole Intro enforces the organisation's password policy; SafeConsole Enforce includes the full range of policy enforcing features; SafeConsole Enforce & Enable multiplies the benefits of SafeStick and SafeConsole and enables all productivity boosting features; while SafeConsole Intro edition is included in every purchase of over 100 drives to enable organisations to ensure all devices are protected by company set policies.
Mike Bienvenu, technical director of Softek, said: “SafeConsole is by far the most widely deployed USB management console across the UK as it is feature rich and easy-to-use. These new features give the power back to organisations as they constantly strive for more control over portable devices.”
