Cyber Connect UK launches this week

A new website and online community for small businesses and start-ups in the cyber-sector went live on Tuesday

Earlier this week, techUK announced the launch of its Cyber Connect UK website. Part of a government-funded programme to support cyber start-ups and cyber-focused small businesses in the UK, the site will build an online community involved in the latest initiatives, opportunities and events. Andy Williams, previously head of international business at Titania, will lead the national programming under the umbrella of techUK.

According to the new site, increased support for start-ups and small businesses will be delivered through ten “key initiatives,” including small business representation and collaboration, a cyber-business mapping project and access to finance workshops.

Along with the site, techUK is simultaneously launching a reciprocal Twitter account (@cyberconnectUK) to further boost the sense of community as well as create up-to-the-minute access to insights and news. Cyber Connect UK's social media initiative also includes LinkedIn, Google+, Vimeo and YouTube.

Business secretary Vince Cable first announced the initiative last month.
