F5 announces launch of iRule contest for DevCentral community
F5 Networks has announced the launch of the ‘iRule. Do You?' contest to showcase iRules expertise and share best practice concepts.
This is the third contest for application architects, developers, systems engineers and other network and security professionals to showcase their iRules expertise and share best practices with their peers.
The competition is open to all members of F5's DevCentral community. Previous iRules contests have highlighted innovative customer and reseller-developed solutions to address a wide range of IT challenges including user authentication, application proxies, spam avoidance, web application security and application performance optimization.
The contest commenced on 12th August 2009 at 4am PT, and it will remain open for entries until 5pm PT on 30th September 2009. Winners will be announced with prizes awarded on 28th October.
The winning iRule wins the grand prize, a choice of a loaded Apple MacBook Pro or Canon EOS 5D Mark II (body only), each valued at over £1,500.
Jeff Browning, director of product management at F5, said: “It's quite remarkable to see the elegant and practical iRules solutions developed and shared by users. This contest is a great opportunity to highlight these solutions and the smart, forward-thinking contributors that create them.
"We anticipate a large number of entries and—by involving the entire community in the judging process—we look forward to a fantastic, community-centred contest packed with some of the best iRules ever created.”
