F5 launches new version of its BIG-IP Application Security Manager web application firewall
F5 Networks has announced the availability of the v10 release of the BIG-IP Application Security Manager web application firewall.
The new version provides attack protection, threat mitigation and application visibility, and offers protection against layer seven denial of service, cross-site scripting, brute force and SQL injection attacks.
It is available as a standalone device or as a software module on F5's Application Delivery Controller BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager. In addition, BIG-IP ASM is now available on F5's Viprion hardware platform.
F5 is also working closely with security and application vendors to ensure rapid, low-impact deployment. Integration with Splunk has provided additional visibility into attack and traffic trends for threat analysis and forecasting purposes.
Integration with Secerno's DataWall offers customers a comprehensive solution for application and database security. In addition, F5's Application Ready Templates provide pre-configured policies that enable BIG-IP solutions to optimise and secure popular applications from Microsoft, Oracle and IBM.
Meanwhile, Cardif Pinnacle, the UK insurance arm of banking group BNP Paribas, has chosen Secerno DataWall and F5's BIG-IP ASM as a combined, integrated solution to secure both web and database tiers.
The Secerno and F5 solution will guard against web application security threats in real-time, providing visibility and security at all levels of its architecture, including protection of core database assets. The installation and ongoing support will be provided by Integralis.
