Hack reveals Syrians in contact with Israel
Computer hackers that are probably working for the Syrian regime and Hezbollah have managed to invade the computers of Israeli and American activists that are working with the Syrian opposition. This will lead to exposure of sensitive contacts between the sides.
Al-Akhbar published a series of articles over the weekend that were serving to leak communication between Mendi Safadi, Druze Israeli and former political adviser, and members of the Syrian opposition around the world via Safadi's computer.
The article also contains screen shots of word documents and text message chains saved on Safadi's computer.
The article stated that Safadi, working on behalf of the Israeli government, attempted to recruit Israeli agents in Syria and Lebanon, smuggle weapons into the hands of Islamist rebel groups in Syria and locate targets within Syria to be bombed by allied forces.
