The Information Assurance (IA) Accreditor role is a broad-ranging IA role with responsibility for assessing, and advising on information risk management issues. With matrix management from the Head of IA Branch (Lead Accreditor) and IM Services Manager, you will be expected to manage the Accreditation of complex systems from start to finish.

Your focus will be on risk assessment, audit and assurance activities, but as a member of a small and flexible IA team you may also be tasked with closing identified gaps and other IA duties. You will need a broad and thorough understanding of information assurance as well as good general knowledge of information technologies.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the government department responsible for collecting and publishing official statistics about the UK's society and economy. Our work is vital to the government, local and health authorities, industry, researchers, students and the public. We inform decision-making at all levels with information that is official, independent and free from political influence. We also carry out the ten-yearly census, the next being in 2011.
