Mobile device management service launched by LogMeIn
LogmeIn has launched a service to manage corporate PCs and data from personal devices in the workplace.
Launched as a beta to support Apple iOS devices, with support for Android to be added, the company said that the cloud-based service pairs access to applications, files and important data with control of users and their mobile devices. With this, organisations can implement policies to control what is being accessed by whom and from what device.
According to the company, organisations can grant or restrict user access to individual computers, authorise specific iOS devices for users or groups and block or discontinue access from any user or device. They can also manage lost or stolen devices by remotely wiping stored credentials.
Andrew Burton, vice president of access and management at LogMeIn, said: “By combining the benefits of LogMeIn Ignition with visibility and control over how employees access their applications and data, organisations can expand the benefits of mobility to all their users, whether individuals bring their own iPads to the workplace or the iPads are provided to them.”
