New version of Web Security Service announced by Webroot
Webroot has announced the latest version of its Web Security Service to include activity reports.
This latest version offers IT administrators interactive reports showing bandwidth trends, as well as trends among employees attempting to access allowed and blocked websites. It said that this allows IT administrators to better manage their companies' security and internet usage policies, as well as to better protect employees' and customers' sensitive information.
According to the company, the update also includes global availability of its vulnerability scanning features to include detection of more than 400 common vulnerabilities found in the operating system, including flaws in web browsers and plug-ins, media players, instant messaging software and various third-party solutions.
Gerhard Eschelbeck, chief technology officer at Webroot, said: “As an industry, we've been embracing the cloud as the most effective way to deliver security. We are pleased to see continued migration toward cloud-based security services among our customers who are recognising the benefits of better protection and better manageability over traditional solutions.”
