No more pesky codes with Google's new and easy two-step verification

Google has introduced a new process that simplifies two-factor authentication for users to secure access to accounts and web-based services.

The new feature will optionally allow users to replace verification codes from the Authenticator app or SMS messages and approve a prompt that will pop up on their phone as a second form of authentication.

Users can tap ‘yes' if they want to allow the request instead of searching through SMS messages and remembering a possibly complex verification code.

Google advised that users can choose the option under the Sign-in & Security>Signing in to Google>2-Step Verification section of My Account.

The new prompt works for Android and iOS devices,  users will need updated Google Play Services on Android and iOS users will need to install the Google Search app.
