This tool is designed solely for Microsoft environments, so it is more useful to SMEs, who lack the same range of OSs as larger organizations.

We were not initially very impressed when we tried to download the latest version of this software from the vendor's website.

The sheer bulk of documentation that came with this product would win an award in itself, such was the scope of it. Ten manuals in all, and all on paper. This really is handy for reference, and other vendors should take heed.

This company has become well known for its patch management product and this latest version continues to do a thorough job.

Rather than a standalone product, Configuresoft's Security Update Manager (SUM) is an add-on product to the its Enterprise Configuration Manager (ECM).

The LANDesk Management Suite, previously owned by Intel, is the only product in this Group Test which is not in fact an anti-virus solution at all. It offers network management and software deployment, which is basically what anti-virus management is all about anyway.
