Centre For Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) Ref: 11/101872
Sensor and CCTV systems are now ubiquitous through-out our society. In this context, development of intelligent surveillance systems with reasoning capabilities to integrate dispersed information, or events, from heterogeneous sources in a distributed network is essential. These events, recognised through intelligent sensor/CCTV analytic algorithms, may be incomplete, uncertain and inconsistent.
Built on our existing framework of intelligent event reasoning system for sensor/CCTV network enabled surveillance, we want to further develop this system to facilitate decision making, utilizing information fusion and reasoning under the multi-agent based architecture for large, geographically distributed sensor/CCTV networks.
The Research Fellow appointed will conduct advanced research on (i) developing information fusion/integration methods in multi-agent based environment, where dispersed pieces of information can be heterogeneous, conflicting, and incomplete, as well as temporal; (ii) developing optimization approaches to focusing on highly dangerous behaviours/events; and (iii) developing decision support strategies to provide real-time situation awareness updates to
security personnel.
