Vasco launches Digipass for mobile phones
Vasco Data Security has announced the launch of the Digipass for Mobile Enterprise Security to offer banking level security to corporate environments.
It is designed to allow enterprise customers to efficiently deploy two-factor authentication using the mobile phone as an authentication device without impacting the existing infrastructure.
To use it, the end user connects to the Vasco application provisioning service and enters their mobile number. An SMS from the Vasco server is then received to allow the download of the application to the mobile phone. Once the authentication application is downloaded, the user will request activation information from their IT department.
According to Vasco, Digipass for Mobile Enterprise Security automatically synchronises with the timeserver for extra security, and in order to facilitate authentication for frequent travellers, it also offers daylight saving time changes and automatic synchronisation. It can be used in combination with other Digipass solutions and supports more than 400 different types of mobile devices.
Jan Valcke, president and COO at Vasco, said: "More and more companies are subject to data theft attacks and therefore are increasingly looking for user-friendly and easy to deploy security solutions. Next to that almost everyone has a mobile phone in their pockets.
"With Digipass for Mobile Enterprise Security, the mobile phone can easily and securely be leveraged for two-factor authentication in corporate environments."
