Barracuda Networks has announced the launch of a new firewall to include advanced 64-bit multi-core processing capabilities.

Speaking at its EMEA partner and customer summit in Austria, the company said that the NG Firewall F900 appliance now provides VPN throughput of almost 4Gbps and firewall application control throughput of up to 21Gbps. Also, Active Recovery technology will enable customers to deploy and recover remote appliances either centrally via the Barracuda NG Control Centre, or completely by non-technical users.

Klaus Gheri, vice president of product management at Barracuda Networks EMEA, said: “The Barracuda NG Firewall is a unique solution because it combines the advantages of true multi-gigabit speeds with the existing benefits of massive scalability, secure connectivity and complete application control and enforcement.”
