New eCrime summit to be held in US this month

The Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) announced today that it will join the financial services industry, and internet security and law enforcement representatives to host the first Counter eCrime Operations Summit in the US later this month.

The Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) announced today that it will join the financial services industry, and internet security and law enforcement representatives to host the first Counter eCrime Operations Summit in the US later this month.

The electronic crime conference will take place over two days in California and will be co-hosted by the APWG, the American Bankers Association and the Financial Services Technology Consortium.

Organisations acting as partners of the summit include the UK’s Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS), the FBI’s Infragard group and the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Centre.

According to the APWG agenda items will include cybercrime, crimeware mutations, how to protect ecommerce against online threats and phishing attacks.

The summit is being held on May 30-31 at the State Bar of California in San Francisco.
