SC has announced a one-day conference on PCI DSS Compliance.

The event is designed to help businesses protect their customer data, gain competitive advantages and avoid the consequences of non-compliance.

The London conference will pay particular attention to the importance and interpretation of the PCI standard, the costs and benefits of data encryption, cross-partner standardising and how to gain funds for company projects through compliance.

The event is aimed at information security experts, online merchants, fraud investigators and company directors, plus managers and officers working in the fields of compliance, risk, business strategy, auditing and security policy.

Speakers at the event include Bob Russo from the PCI Security Standards Council, Colin Whittaker head of security at APACS, Iain Bourne from the Information Commissioner’s Office, Visa Europe’s Steve Wilson and Paul S Baker, vice-president of payment system integrity at MasterCard.

There will also be presentations by experts from American Express, VeriSign, Protegrity and KPMG, as well as a choice of interactive sessions and afternoon sittings for attendees, depending on their level of compliance.

The event will take place on 14 November at the Selfridge Hotel in central London and costs £499 if booked before 4 October and £599 thereafter. There is a discount for SC readers at £449 and a group saving, with the third attendee receiving 50 per cent off.
