» Troels Oerting, the former police officer and director of Europol's European Cyber Crime Unit (EC3), left his post to become Group CISO at Barclays Bank, headquartered in London.

» IT risk management and security company, Accumuli, announced the acquisition of RandomStorm Ltd, an integrated information security specialist based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire.

» Brandon Hoffman was appointed to the role of chief technology officer at Lumeta Corporation, with a focus on customer needs and solution quality. He joins the team under Pat Donnellan, chief executive officer of Lumeta.

» Peter Shoard joins cyber-security service provider, SecureData, as head of cloud service product development. Shoard was previously at Deloitte and BAE Detica as a security analyst.

» Digital security firm, Gemalto announced the acquisition of data and software protection specialist, SafeNet, with approval by the relevant regulatory and antitrust authorities.

» Bob Maus has been appointed senior vice president, business development, at Bromium, Inc., a micro-virtualisation endpoint security organisation.
