»European privacy officer at Acxiom, Dr Sachiko Scheuing, is elected co-chair at the Federation of European Direct Interactive Marketing. This is the first time that a privacy officer is chair of a major European trade body and the move bolsters FEDMA's focus on data privacy and security.

»EEMA, the European association for e-Identity (eID) and security, announced that board member, Jon Shamah, has been elected its next chairman.

»Eleri Gibbon is now vice president of EMEA at FireHost.  Gibbon draws on more than 15 years of experience at technology companies including Rackspace, CA, McAfee, and Compuware.

»Dr Robert Nowill will serve on the  board of directors as a non-executive director at Information Risk Management (IRM) Plc. Dr Nowill previously served as director and board member of the Cyber Security Challenge UK and director of Cyber and Assurance at BT.

»In the next phase of its expansion into global industrial security, IOActive announced that Bradford Hegrat and Jason Larsen have joined the company as industrial services director, and principal security consultant, respectively.

»Malwarebytes appointed two new senior executives, Char Bacher, VP of products, and Mark Patton, VP of Engineering, who join the executive team and will have responsibility for formulating and delivering overall strategy.

»SecureData has hired ex-Sainsbury's security team lead, Mark Sprules, as chief information security officer (CISO) to head up its in-demand CISO-as-a-service practice and drive security awareness programmes in the mid-enterprise.

»In efforts to increase its IT security capability, Telent Technology Services Ltd,  has acquired a 25 percent stake in CNS Group, a London-based information assurance and cyber security company.

»Asset Control has appointed Franck Peltier as managing director, APAC, where he will be responsible for the continued international expansion of the organisation. Peltier joins the company after nearly 18 years based in Hong Kong with SunGard and GL Trade, selling IT solutions to the financial sector.

»Intersec  announced the appointment of a new vice-president of Asia Pacific, Vicks Kanagasingam, who was previously president and CSO of Asia Pacific at Business Logic Systems.
