Dale Fuller has been confirmed as a permanent chairman of the AVG Technologies board.

Fuller has been an acting director since March 2009, and has served on the AVG board of directors since October 2008.

The company claimed that he had a strong track record of successfully starting and leading companies through critical business growth, having previously served as interim CEO and board member for McAfee.

In his new role, Fuller will help prepare the company and investors for its next phase of growth. JR Smith, CEO of AVG Technologies, said: “The current board and executive management team has pushed AVG to deliver consistently record-breaking revenues, and so as we anticipate a public offering for the company we wanted to solidify key leadership roles.

“I look forward to Dale's continued strategic guidance as AVG moves into its next phase of growth.”
