CESG, the information arm of GCHQ, has certified a new one-day cyber-security course designed to help information security professionals counter the insider threat.
The ‘Cyber Security: The Insider Threat' course, delivered by Templar Executives, is to be held in de Veres, Oxford Circus, central London with course dates to be confirmed. Bespoke services for business are also available, company executives said.
Templar Executives says that the course will “equip delegates with the context and knowledge to understand best practice to mitigate the risks associated with the insider threat.”
“This course will help you protect your business from financial, operational and reputational harm, which could be caused wittingly or unwittingly, by an insider attack,” commented Templar Executives CESG certified trainers. “Our unique and holistic approach incorporates people, processes, governance, culture and technology. With real-life examples and scenarios to consolidate learning, this course emphasises the need to raise awareness and be proactive, rather than reactive to insider threats”.
Specifically course attendees will learn to understand the evolving insider threat and potential motivations and indicators, social engineering threats and social media best practice, know the importance of organisational design, leadership and governance to foster a positive culture, as well as the value of information and the employee and organisation's role in protecting it.
This course would also qualify for The Tech Partnership Training Fund - who contribute up to 50 percent funding towards the cost of this course - subject to the company passing a basic eligibility check.
Templar Executives cyber academy director, Rekha Babber told SCMagazineUK.com that the course is designed to counter a ‘growing concern':
“The newly certified ‘Insider Threat' course joins the increasing portfolio of IISP accredited and CESG certified training courses offered by Templar Executives. These include Cyber Security training programmes for board members, non-executives, specialist roles, as well as general awareness. Our courses bring Cyber Security to life; providing delegates with relevance and practical steps to apply learning in the workplace immediately and become more effective.”
