CGI has become the only test lab in the UK able to perform common criteria tailored assurance scheme (CTAS), commercial product assurance (CPA), security evaluations, and CESG assured services (CAS) evaluations following approval by CESG, the UK Government National Technical Authority for Information Assurance. “These accreditations are the latest in a long line of such schemes that CGI UK has invested in. We see these schemes as an important part of establishing our credentials, especially amongst Government clients,” Andrew Rogoyski, head of cyber security at CGI in the UK told –.

Rogoyski says "It is of increasing importance that UK organisations evaluate their technologies to prove that they are secure". The UK lab is one of three test facilities which make up CGI's network; the others being in Canada and the US, both of which are also accredited; CGI is one of the few companies to achieve this. The test facilities provide both professional and security related services, supported by nine security operation centres around the world. Rogoyski went on to say:“CGI's global network allows us to respond to cyber threats whenever and wherever they emerge, using expertise and insight gathered from across the globe. Our multinational presence also means that we can provide local responses, where we can be sensitive to the particular business and legal environment.”

At the end of September, CGI will be launching a new scheme specifically for protecting government devices and monitoring them, then providing feeding back ontheir results.
