Check Point is to offer a full version of its ZoneAlarm Pro 2010 firewall and identity theft protection for free from 2pm today for 24 hours.
ZoneAlarm Pro 2010 combines Check Point's firewall with an OSFirewall that monitors behaviour within the operating system to stop malicious attacks. The offer is designed to run concurrently with Microsoft's Patch Tuesday.
Check Point ZoneAlarm Pro includes identity protection services with daily credit report monitoring and victim recovery services that helps consumers recover quickly from identity theft.
To prevent attacks entering the PC through the web browser, ZoneAlarm Pro 2010 includes a new advanced download protection technology that automatically checks and analyses the programs that a user wishes to download to determine if they are safe or malicious.
Bari Abdul, vice president of consumer sales at Check Point, said: “Online threats continue to expand dramatically, doubling in number every few months. Even browsing legitimate websites can expose consumers to hidden threats designed to compromise PCs and steal personal information.
“By offering Check Point ZoneAlarm Pro free for 24 hours, we are making our trusted firewall more widely available to consumers, helping protect their credit card numbers, social security information and any personal data against sophisticated threats.”
