Check Point has announced the launch of a new IP appliance line to work with its software blade architecture.

Based on Nokia hardware, following the acquisition of the security division last month, the IP appliance line is offered as a single solution with the Check Point R70 security gateway software.

The line provides flexible, extensible security through the software blade architecture that allows customers to select the exact security protection needed for a given environment. Delivering up to 29 Gbps of firewall throughput the IP appliance line also includes multiple acceleration and interface options.

Dr. Dorit Dor, vice president of products at Check Point, said: “Just a few weeks after our close of the Nokia security appliance business acquisition, we are pleased to bring to market a new line of integrated IP appliances with added value and security. The new IP appliance line comes with enhanced support service level agreements and provides our customers stronger integrated security at better value.”
