Cloudmark has launched a messaging security solution for mobile devices to enable operators to combat evolving messaging threats.

According to the company, Cloudmark Mobile Messaging Security Solution also encompasses a global reporting and analysis component and an automated, active messaging filtering solution.

Its recent research found that 73 per cent of mobile spam was premium rate fraud, while mobile spam has had a significant impact on operators both financially and in consuming network bandwidth.

Alan Ranger, vice president of mobile marketing at Cloudmark, said that while the cost of sending messages has decreased the amount of spam has increased.

“The Cloudmark Mobile Messaging Security Solution provides operators with the requisite tools to effectively address this problem now and help to prevent mobile messaging attacks from becoming as prominent as email attacks,” he said.

“It is all about making sure that what is delivered is what you want to receive and the key point here is that subscribers will want to use it.”
