EDF Energy has selected a vulnerability management and PCI compliance scanning solution from Outpost24.
In line with new industry regulations to become PCI DSS compliant, EDF Energy has deployed the solution across all of its UK sites and will ultimately extend it to the recently-integrated British Energy business.
Jeffrey Irving, IT perimeter security manager at EDF Energy, said he was looking for a technology partner to help the business fulfil the compliance obligations, as well as better secure the perimeter.
He said: “Even during the evaluation process we found immediate value in the Outpost24 solution, as we discovered vulnerabilities other systems on trial hadn't detected or had inundated us with false positives.
“We were impressed by the strength of the Outpost24 offer and their ability to develop bespoke elements to suit our specific requirements. At all times they have been easy to deal with, extremely responsive to queries and have given us a solution that has really impressed our technical team.”
Outpost24 offers on-demand vulnerability assessment and management solutions in a Software-as-a-Service or an appliance form. Business development director Aziz Maakaroun said: “We are committed to providing leading technology and the greatest ease of use in the industry. Once a potential client takes up a trial of our solution they soon discover an extremely desirable, cost effective product with a long history of development and technical credibility.”
