LogLogic has announced the release of an entry-level security information event management (SIEM) and log management product.

The LogLogic LX820 comes with version five of its software. The company claimed that with ease-of-use and a plug-and-go design, the LX820 can process up to 5,000 messages per second (MPS) at top speeds, depending on conditions.

According to LogLogic, it comes standard with support for over 340 systems and device types, and support for countless others, with the addition of LogLogic 5's ‘Log Labels' feature.

Guy Churchward, LogLogic CEO, said: “With the introduction of the LX820, LogLogic has put another piece of its ‘Enterprise Log Fabric' vision in place by offering affordable distributed data analytics, while delivering data center grade quality. The LX820 is also a great building block for adding visibility and control to a cloud-computing environment.”

LogRhythm has announced the introduction of a virtualised SIEM product. With support for VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer, LogRhythm said that the solution allows customers to run its platform on a virtual machine, deploy it in its familiar appliance form factor and implement mixed mode environments to meet data centre and remote site requirements.

Chris Petersen, founder and CTO of LogRhythm, said: “Virtualisation and cloud computing are transforming the way IT is deployed, managed and consumed, which includes log management and SIEM technology. By supporting all three of the industry's leading virtualisation platforms, LogRhythm allows customers to seamlessly integrate our system within their existing virtualisation infrastructure, while providing enterprises, MSSPs and cloud service providers with total deployment flexibility to mix and match physical and virtual machines to meet their needs.”
