Those using ESET anti-virus to protect themselves on the web have been affected today by a faulty update which was pushed out this Monday morning.

Any user who applied the update was stopped from browsing most of the internet, including, and ESET's own site.

Websites were falsely labelled as contaminated with hostile JavaScript code, users took to Twitter to alert us of the issue -

ESET has confirmed issues via its Twitter feed and on its Security Forum.
