SC Media UK Events
SC Media UK runs both regular and ad-hoc events throughout the year, providing opportunities for cyber security professionals to increase their knowledge, benchmark best practice and network with peers to share advice and insight.
SC Congress 2019, ILEC conference centre, Earls Court, Central London, February 2019
The SC Congress series is one a leading editorially independent cyber-security event aimed specifically at senior cyber-security professionals, with some 350 attending each year, making it both a networking and education event; attendance at this longest standing event in the industry is free for qualifying delegates.
Keynote speakers include government ministers, GCHQ representatives and other industry leaders from a range of relevant international organisations. A similarly high level rosta of panelists lead discussion in the plenary sessions, hosted by the SC editorial team, where audience participation is welcomed.
In addition there are break-out sponsored sessions from selected industry solutions providers delivering both technology showcases and an opportunity to quizz the vendors - who also have stands at the event. It’s a broad ranging one day conference that extends from cyber-crime and cyber-espionage to the IIOT, regulation and the skills gap, among other topics - with current pain points tackled (eg Ransomware, GDPR, use of AI and automation, securing cloud services etc).

SC Awards Europe
SC Awards Europe 2019, Marriott Hotel, Mayfair, Central London, 4 June 2019
Each year SC Media UK honours the industry’s leading companies and individuals for achievements that make them stand out from the crowd, rewarding not just best practice, but leadership and innovation.
In such a dynamic industry that making it onto the shortlist is an achievement that participants celebrate with staff and clients in a glittering highlight of the year at a glamorous black-tie event event, and if our panel of independent judges have selected them as the winner - then that’s the icing on the cake in what is always a fun and memorable event.
SC Roundtables are run roughly every six to eight weeks on an ad-hoc basis, and are restricted to 12 to 20 senior industry professionals attending on an invitation only basis. They are editorially independent events focussing on peer to peer discussion of current issues in the world of cyber security - whether that be insider threats, making best use of threat intelligence or drawing up breach response plans.
Previous venues have included the Shard, Skygarden, Beaumont hotel, Duck and waffle, and Edinburgh Museum. These roundtables are primarily breakfast events, and in recognition of the sector we work in, attendees may choose to not have their participation recorded, but active engagement is necessary on the day to get the most from the opportunity, including building up sector peer networks. Details are advertised as new events are scheduled.
SC Forums are to be reintroduced over the coming year. These will be invitation-only events of 20 to 30 senior cyber security professionals for a more intimate event where you can talk directly with the presenters and panelists, including topic ‘huddles’ as well as one-to-one meetings with vendors from a specific product category, condensing due-diligence on several companies into one day.
Details to be announced.
Leading players in the industry often seek to reach members of the SC Media UK audience to highlight their involvement in a particular issue of interest to the industry, and SC will work with them to create an independent editorial programme, and a mix of independent and company speakers for a half day event of 40 to 50 people. Details are advertised as new events are scheduled.
