Revealed by newly-released legal documents, a building in Chicago was raided following the leak of hundreds of naked female star photos last year.
After photos were stolen from celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, the FBI snatched computers and smartphones from the Chicago home in October. The pictures were apparently stolen via a hack on their Apple iCloud accounts last year.
This summer scandal from last year highlighted the vulnerabilities of cloud computing—allowing personal information to be stored on the internet and accessed from any device.
“It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting”, said Lawrence.
An affidavit identified eight celebrities, but only by their initials. No charges have been filed at the current time.
