Stephen Bonner has been appointed as a partner in KPMG's information protection and business resilience business.
Malcolm Marshall, head of the practice, said: “I am delighted to welcome Stephen to KPMG and the information security team.
“He will be working with a wide range of clients, including those in the financial services sector, to help them to better understand their emerging cyber threats and how they can more effectively deal with them in this increasingly difficult regulatory environment.”
Bonner was previously managing director of information risk management and finance change at Barclays. During his eight years there he was named as SC Magazine's Information Security Person of the Year at the 2009 awards and as Most Influential Person in 2010.
His information risk management team at Barclays also won the SC Magazine award for Information Security Team of the Year in 2009 and 2010. He was inducted into the InfoSecurity Europe Hall of Fame in 2010.
