Halon Security has announced a new range of firewalls with the Security Router (SR) series.
The Swedish email security and spam prevention appliance vendor said the Halon SR series offers performance and security with new hardware appliances and new platform support for virtualisation platforms. According to the company, all models in the series are built on a new operating system, developed from the ground up with focus on Ipv6.
It also said that the Halon SR platform features load balancing on level seven of the OSI model, clustering, AES encryption and BGP redundancy.
For customers already with a virtualised environment, the Halon Virtual Security Router offers the same functionality as Halon SR with optimisation for virtualised platforms such as VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer or KVM.
Peter Falck, president of Halon Security, said: “We found that very few, if any, firewalls currently on the market offered what we now are presenting in Halon SR in terms of pricing, and with an administration and management interface designed for humans.
“We believe in freedom of choice of what hardware platform customers want to utilise when securing their enterprise. With the new Halon SR series, customers can choose a hardware appliance, a virtualisation environment or a standard server hardware solution without compromising on security, performance or management.”
