This is an exciting opportunity to join a pool of experts that influence and shape the direction of Information Assurance (IA) work to safeguard the nation. CESG is the UK's National Technical Authority and the IA arm of GCHQ. Protecting the Government's IT infrastructure from malicious hackers and disruption, as well as future proofing systems against potential threat, CESG offers world-class advice and consultancy on information security issues to customers in government and industry worldwide. Quite simply, our brief is to help ensure that the UK can live and work on-line with confidence.
Our work is challenging, varied and definitely unique. Now we have an opportunity for a credible and experienced IA professional to provide technical leadership of teams engaged on major projects for customers across Government. Taking an innovative approach to critical IA issues and technologies, you will provide expert advice and input to architecting, thereby ensuring the development of new capability and techniques. As a representative of the organisation, you will be required to engage, influence and negotiate with senior customers, partners and stakeholders on a range of subjects. You will also be expected to mentor our IA specialists.
To join us, you must have recent experience in the industry, and a relevant track record. You demonstrate expert knowledge and a high level of competence across a range of IA skills. Driven and enthusiastic, your technical abilities are matched by your interpersonal skills. You will also need the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical specialists, and to lead and develop highly effective teams.
You will be based at GCHQ's state of the art headquarters in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, although some travel (especially to customers in London) will be required.
