The past year's White Hat events have raised over £131,000 for ChildLine/NSPCC.

The cheque was presented at this year's Infosecurity Europe exhibition to ChildLine head Sue Minto by David Morgan, the new White Hat committee chairman. The total amount raised by the White Hat Ball, the 2010 London Marathon, the White Hat Rally and the 2010 Thundercrawl race was over £131,000.

Also present was former committee chairman and managing director of Barclays information risk management Stephen Bonner. Bonner ran last Sunday's London Marathon for White Hat, raising over £15,000 in a time of four hours, 35 minutes and 38 seconds.

Morgan said: "The White Hat Events Organising Committee is delighted to have raised over £130,000 in the past year for ChildLine/NSPCC. The White Hat franchise has grown over the past six years to encapsulate many fund raising activities beyond the traditional annual ball and we hope this will continue in the coming years.

“To have raised this extraordinary amount in the current climate truly testifies to the hard work and generosity of everyone associated with our various activities.”
