Ipswitch has launched a new WS_FTP server that enables peer-to-peer file sharing.

It claimed that WS_FTP Server 7.5 will give businesses the ability to encrypt, control, authenticate and manage files moving inside and outside of their organisations.

Other features include the ability to allow organisations to quickly and securely share files through Microsoft Outlook or a web browser, oversee and manage all file-sharing activities, internally and externally and eliminate the ‘file attachment' burden from the email server.

Jonathan Lampe, vice president of product management at Ipswitch File Transfer, said: “We are setting a new standard for information sharing by giving organisations the visibility and controls they need, while making it easier than ever for employees to securely share files of any size – both internally and externally.”
