ISACA introduction course aims to bridge cyber-security skills gap

News by SC Staff

ISACA has launched an online Cybersecurity Fundamentals course to provide an introduction to the principles of cyber-security including information security within lifecycle management, risks and vulnerabilities, incident response as well as future implications and evolving technologies.

“Course participants will gain key insights into cyber-security and the integral role of cyber-security professionals,” said Robert E Stroud, CGEIT, CRISC, international president of ISACA and vice president of strategy and innovation at CA Technologies in a statement to press, adding: “The interactive, self-guided format provides a dynamic learning experience where users can explore foundational cyber-security principles, security architecture, risk management, attacks, incidents, and emerging IT and IS technologies — all key concepts and skills that will make them valuable to enterprises seeking to build their cyber-security teams.”

The course takes approximately eight hours to complete and costs £164 (US $250) for ISACA members and £263 (US $400) for non-members, delivered through ISACA's Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX). It is designed for individuals with zero to three years of cyber-security experience, students, recent graduates, and those looking to enter the field of cyber-security. The intention is that it will help learners prepare for ISACA's Cybersecurity Fundamentals exam and earn the Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate.
