Yesterday ISACA launched an online version of COBIT 5, a resource centre to increase the utility of COBIT, the business framework for the governance and management enterprise IT.
As cybersecurity incidents are on the rise, critical gaps in IT governance in businesses have been revealed. An ISACA survey showed an increased value in IT governance over 12 months with the COBIT 5 framework. More than 70 percent of the survey participants reported that COBIT 5 had helped them address practical business issues. Integration of business and IT, improved risk management, the ability to identify gaps, and greater visibility with board of directors were listed as the top four ways COBIT has helped their business.
COBIT 5 enables users to browse ISACA content and external sources and cover top issues and factors facing the industry; quickly and easily browse, search, filter, and export COBIT 5 publications; comment and ask questions to facilitate learning; and personalise responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed planners.
Robert Stroud, international president of ISACA, issued a statement saying that, “High-profile cyber threats have highlighted the risks and vulnerabilities in enterprises worldwide; making COBIT 5 available in an online format extends the ability of enterprises to protect their information assets and improve business performance.”
