The US Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, traveled to Israel this past week to discuss the cyber-security challenges facing both countries.

They specifically discussed opportunities for joint investment in cyber-security, a press release states. Mayorkas and Israeli officials also signed a joint statement confirming their commitment to promoting “cooperation and information sharing on cyber-security and cyber-research and development,” the release said.

Separately, Israel has also agreed to cooperate with Russia on tackling cyber-security, as reported by SC.

In an unrelated move on Monday, Reuters reported Microsoft Corp's plans to acquire Israeli cyber-security company Adallom for £206 million.

Adallom has raised £32 million in venture capital funds and was founded in 2012. It specialises in providing secure data solutions in the cloud.
