Three IT computer systems and software companies have sponsored two rowers who are taking part in a gruelling 3,000-mile Atlantic rowing race for charity.Brookcourt Solutions and from IT consultancies Patni and Sapient are sponsoring Steve Coe and Richard Hoyland, who are competing in the 2009 Woodvale Challenge Atlantic Rowing Race. The money raised will be used to purchase vital equipment for their voyage.

The support will help Steve and Richard raise £50,000 for the British Heart Foundation and Princes Alice Hospice in Esher. From December to February 2010 they will race from the Canary Islands to Antigua in the West Indies in ‘No Fear', their Woodvale Pairs Class 23-foot ocean rowing boat.

Their boat ships out to the Canaries on 19th October in preparation for the race that starts on 6th December from San Sebastián de La Gomera and follows the Columbus route across the mid-Atlantic and ends at Nelson's Dockyard in the English harbour in Antigua in February 2010.
