The Jericho Forum has announced the election of five board members.

Philippe Courtot, CEO of Qualys, and John Arnold, chief security architect at Capgemini are to join the board to mark the first appointment of two senior representatives from the vendor community.

Re-elected to the forum are Paul Simmonds, chief information security officer for AstraZeneca, John Meakin, chief information security officer for BP and Andrew Yeomans, VP global information security from Dresdner Kleinwort. They re-join existing board members, Adrian Seccombe, CISO and senior enterprise information architect at Eli Lilly and Steve Whitlock, chief security architect at Boeing.

Adrian Seccombe said: “De-perimeterisation is already happening, will continue to happen and will inevitably impact virtually all networked IT systems. Jericho Forum has always emphasised the need for vendors and users to work together to establish safer and more effective collaboration in a de-perimeterised world.

“The appointment of two respected vendors to our board demonstrates our continued emphasis on the delivery of practical solutions for business. Jericho Forum sees cloud computing as offering unique benefits to business – if properly and responsibly integrated into security strategy. Our vision for 2009 focuses strongly on the development of secure best practices for collaboration in the cloud.”
