LogLogic has announced the next version of its data management product to add new functionality to protect consumers' personally identifiable information (PII).

According to the company, LogLogic 5.2 can be configured to meet a wide array of data privacy restrictions at local, state and national levels. It can also help companies meet record retention policies to allow users' fine-grained control over what data is kept and for how long.

Guy Churchward, CEO of LogLogic, said: “This announcement emphasises our commitment to improving IT data management across the board. It's more than just collecting logs.

“We're helping companies build a data management strategy that will enable them to collect and store the data they need to conform with local laws and to respect the privacy of customers and the public. More importantly, it will help improve operational efficiency overall.”

This new version also introduces double-authentication data masking, which LogLogic claimed provides data obfuscation features to hide restricted data in reports and dashboards from unauthorised parties. Coupled with a new policy-based retention feature, it said that this ensures that companies can distinguish and only save the data needed to meet regulatory or policy concerns.
