Microsoft will ship two patches on its monthly ‘Patch Tuesday' next week.

It has claimed that one of the patches is critical and will address at least one vulnerability in XML Core Services when installed on Windows and Office. Platforms affected are reported to be 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista and Server 2008.

The other patch has been described as ‘important' and will address a general windows issue. A notification from Microsoft claimed that all of the bugs being patched could be exploited to execute remote code.

The company will also release an updated Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and non-security updates on Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services and Microsoft Update.
