Netflix nation is celebrating as Firefox has joined it on Windows with HTML5 video extensions. The streamer's HTML5 video player is now able to work with Firefox digital-rights specific software from Adobe in order to control content.

Users will no longer need to download a plugin to watch their favourite shows on a Windows PC. OS X is coming out sometime next year.

The player comes with Media Source Extensions (MSE), Encrypted Media Extensions (EME), and the Web Cryptography API (WebCrypto) Message Security Layer client-server protocol.

With the addition of Firefox, Netflix now supports HTML5 video in “all major browsers”—Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Safari and Google Chrome.
