The UK division of managed security services company Network Box has announced that it has changed its name to Redscan.

It said that the UK rebrand has been driven by customer demand for a managed service that provides the widest possible range of network perimeter security solutions. Following the change, Redscan will now offer a wider range of bespoke security services to suit customers' individual requirements.

The security solutions now include: a full managed, monitored and controlled firewall; intrusion detection and prevention with pushed signatures and updates; and email control to include anti-virus, backscatter protection, data security and compliance, policy management, encryption, archiving, content scanning and DLP.

Web control to include web content filtering, roaming user protection, internet policy management and bandwidth management is also included, along with remote access and VPNs, VoIP security and Web 2.0 and social media applications (such as instant messaging) control.

Redscan said that these can be delivered on the client premises via Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), or in the cloud.

Redscan managing director Simon Heron said: “Our customers are looking for the very best network perimeter security and want the choice of how they receive it – locally or through the cloud. They expect us to be able to secure developing technologies such as VoIP and social media applications.

“Our rebrand to Redscan is an important part of us meeting our customer demands. We will continue to work with the best security software available, including names like Webroot, Kaspersky Lab, Sipera and FaceTime, to make sure our managed service is second to none.”
