NeuStar expands European UltraDNS network infrastructure
The new node is the third in Europe, along with London and Luxembourg, and will increase the reliability and performance of the UltraDNS Managed DNS Service.
The node is located at Telecity's Amsterdam facility, part of the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX). The city's relatively centralised location on the continent helps to mitigate the effects of latency for customers throughout Europe, and AMS-IX has more connected members than any other internet exchange worldwide.
Given the strategic nature of the new UltraDNS node, NeuStar also anticipates enhanced performance for customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
NeuStar now operates public nodes across five continents, with additional private nodes collocated with leading ISPs – making UltraDNS one of the largest and most widely distributed DNS infrastructures in the world.
Alex Berry, senior vice president of NeuStar's internet infrastructure service group, said: “This new investment in our European infrastructure is a reflection of the growing demand we're seeing in the Continent for the UltraDNS managed services.
“Enterprises in Europe, as elsewhere in the world, are recognising the importance of the DNS to the successful performance and security of their online operations and the need for an experienced, global managed DNS partner.”
