Sunbelt Software has launched its new malware analysis technology, MX-Virtualization.

Part of an enhancement to its VIPRE anti-virus and anti-spyware product line, MX-V integrates directly into the VIPRE scanning system which performs rapid behavioural analysis of potential malware.

Alex Eckelberry, CEO of Sunbelt Software, said: “With MX-V, we have created a method to rapidly analyse potential malware by observing its behaviour in a virtual environment, providing enhanced protection against new or unknown threats.

“Furthermore, because we developed the technology using an emulation technique known as Dynamic Translation, it is extremely fast, able to do its work without compromising system performance.”
