NETASQ has confirmed that it will launch a new version of its unified threat management (UTM) platform to offer enterprise capability.

It confirmed that NETASQ v9 will be available from 30th June and is designed to improve business performance and service continuity, reduce complexity and risk and will benefit from network security that sets a new standard at the application layer.

According to the company, NETASQ v9 will offer a full range of security functions, including wizards to guide through common tasks, real-time error checking and a new web-based console.

Fabien Thomas, CTO at NETASQ, said: “With the availability of NETASQ version 9 and its unprecedented levels of performance, control and protection, security without compromise is no longer simply a pipe dream. We believe this is an enormous stride forward for UTM applications.”

Talking to SC Magazine, NETASQ CEO Francois Lavaste said: “We are announcing the new version nine solution which we sell as an appliance form factor or as a virtualised solution for virtual environments.

“It has been interesting to follow successful attacks such as that against Sony and it is very important that you keep running the race but stay ahead of the hackers. The tagline we use for this is ‘security without compromise'.”

According to NETASQ, version 9's architecture combines the performance of hardware acceleration with the flexibility of software, while the IPS analyses web applications, identifying the most advanced attacks and cleaning application traffic in real-time.
