PGP and Intel have announced a collaboration to provide comprehensive protection for notebooks.

The agreement will see the support of Intel's anti-theft technology that PGP will integrate into its Whole Disk Encryption solutions for combined asset and data protection. This will also help with notebook theft deterrence for organisations worldwide.

The combined solution will offer large enterprise and SMB customers options to block access to private and sensitive data that is secured by PGP data encryption solutions.

Steven Schoenfeld, vice president of products and strategy at PGP, said: “Time after time, we've seen that data breaches due to lost or stolen notebooks can have a detrimental impact to a public or private organisation - protecting data and personal information has never been more critical.

“We are pleased to continue to expand our relationship with Intel; this collaboration underscores our commitment to developing and providing the most comprehensive and leading edge data protection solutions for organisations worldwide.”
